Raising Dough: The Pizza Hut Fundraiser and Other Pizza Options

If you’re looking for a simple, fun, and delicious way to raise money for your organization, look no further than the Pizza Hut fundraiser. If this is your first time utilizing the power of pizza as a fundraising tool, this blog post will explain everything you need to know about hosting a fundraiser with Pizza Hut, as well as introduce you to two other awesome pizza-centered fundraisers with Mellow Mushroom and Papa Murphy’s.

The Pizza Hut Fundraiser

The Pizza Hut fundraiser is what is known as a restaurant fundraiser. Here is how a restaurant fundraiser works: friends, family, supporters, and participants all buy food from a restaurant during a predetermined date and time, and afterwards the restaurant will donate a set percentage of the total bill back to your organization. It is an extremely easy and effective way to fundraise.

To apply for a Pizza Hut fundraiser, visit their fundraising website and select a date, time, and one of the 89 participating locations. You will also fill out some brief information about your organization. Pizza Hut only accepts nonprofit groups that can provide a tax exempt number.

Fundraiser requests must be made at least two weeks prior to your desired date. Pizza Hut will only host fundraisers from Monday through Thursday–they do not host fundraisers on weekends or holidays. There is no limit to the frequency of fundraisers an organization can hold with Pizza Hut.

The average meal price at Pizza Hut is $10 to $12, but they require a minimum $15 sub-total purchase in order to count toward the fundraising earnings. Additionally, the total amount of money spent during the fundraising time must exceed $400, otherwise your organization will not receive a money donation but a one-time food credit of equal value.

Once your fundraising application has been submitted and accepted, Pizza Hut will send you digital and for-print flyers to distribute amongst your supporters. Flyer distribution at the location is prohibited.

On the day of your fundraiser, participants come to the Pizza Hut location during the allotted time and order for dine-in or take-out. They must provide either a print flyer or a screenshot of one for their purchases to count toward the fundraising earnings. After everyone has enjoyed some delicious pizza, Pizza Hut will donate a whopping 20% of total sales from the fundraiser back to your organization by check within 7 to 10 days!

A Pizza Hut fundraiser is an awesome avenue for all types of nonprofit groups to raise money, because everyone loves pizza and it requires minimal effort from whoever is organizing the event.

The Mellow Mushroom Fundraiser

An equally easy and awesome pizza-focused fundraiser is the Mellow Mushroom Fundraiser. 35 Mellow Mushroom locations are partnered with GroupRaise to offer a super simple fundraising experience. Mellow Mushroom offers a warm dine-in atmosphere with an emphasis on artisan and specialty pizza pies.

The process to book a Mellow Mushroom Fundraiser takes less than a minute by following these three easy steps:

  1. Find a location near you
  2. Select a date and time
  3. Press submit!

The fundraiser request must be made at least two weeks before the desired date. There is no limit to the frequency of fundraisers one group can hold with Mellow Mushroom. In general, Mellow Mushroom welcomes all groups and causes to host fundraisers.

Once you submit a request, spread the word to as many friends, family, and supporters as possible to maximize your fundraising potential. You can find tips and tricks to promote your fundraiser in our blog post here.

Mellow Mushroom has no minimum spending limit to count toward the fundraising earnings, as well as no minimum dollar amount for the total bill in order to donate money back to your group.

When the fundraising day comes around, all of those loyal supporters that you reached out to will come to the Mellow Mushroom location during the given time frame and indulge on some incredible pizza. All they have to do is let their server know that they are participating in the fundraiser, no flyers necessary! When all is said and done, Mellow Mushroom will donate 15% of the total participating sales that day back to your cause by check within 4 to 6 weeks after your fundraiser.

With an average price range of $11 to $14 and a wide variety of options to please everyone’s tastes, Mellow Mushroom is a super simple, effective, and satisfying way to fundraise!

The Papa Murphy’s Fundraiser

The Papa Murphy’s Fundraiser is yet another pizza centered restaurant fundraiser, but with a fresh spin to it. Papa Murphy’s is famous for their Take-and-Bake pizzas, meaning that they sell uncooked pizzas to patrons to bake in their own homes.

All Papa Murphy’s Take-and-Bake pizzas are made fresh daily and never frozen, prepared with only the finest ingredients. And there is something inherently gratifying about cooking a gourmet pizza in your very own oven!

Papa Murphy’s has 94 locations partnered with GroupRaise offering restaurant fundraisers. The process is identical to other restaurant fundraisers–supporters come to the restaurant during the allotted time, purchase their Take-and-Bake pizzas, and let the restaurant know that they are participating in the fundraiser–only they will be taking the raw pizzas with them to do the baking in their own kitchen. The average price of the Take-and-Bake pizza is $12.

A Papa Murphy’s Fundraiser is a great fundraising idea for groups and organizations with busy members who don’t have the time to dine-in at a restaurant, but could easily pick up a pizza and pop it in the oven at home.

Here is all it takes to request a Papa Murphy’s Fundraiser:

  1. Find a location near you
  2. Select a date and time
  3. Press submit!

Fundraiser requests must be made two weeks before the date of your fundraiser, and there are no limits to the number of fundraisers one group can hold. Papa Murphy’s accepts all nonprofit organizations to fundraise.

When the fundraising participants arrive to pick up their Take-and-Bakes, all they have to do is let the restaurant know that they are a part of the fundraiser and their sales will be counted toward the total bill. No flyers necessary! After the fundraising day, Papa Murphy’s will donate 20% of the total sales by check back to your organization within four to six weeks.
