How GroupRaise Helps Fundraising Groups Promote

Posted by Laura Bilsborrow

Everyone wants restaurant fundraisers to be successful, both community groups and their restaurant hosts. That’s why when organizations book restaurant fundraisers through GroupRaise, we send them loads of promotion tools to boost fundraiser attendance.

From their unique Online Meal Promotion Page (example here and pictured below) to customized flyers, social media images, and even captions to copy & paste, the GroupRaise marketing team makes it easy for fundraising leaders to rally their community.

See below for a full breakdown of the promo tools we send to every fundraising group as the days count down to their event!

Note: These promotional tools are evolving all the time based on feedback from groups and restaurants, so current promo tools as you’re reading this may be even better than the ones pictured below. To see current promo tools in action, browse #groupraise on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

As soon as restaurant accepts event

Meal Promotion Page

The moment the restaurant accepts the group’s event, a unique Online Meal Promotion Page is automatically generated. All of the event details are collected on this page and groups can use the page to gather RSVPs. For most events, there’s a 20 person RSVP minimum for the event to go forward.

Facebook Event Image & Description Template

We’ve found that fundraising groups that create a Facebook event page tend to have more successful events, so we send them an email with:

  • A copy & pasteable Facebook event description with their unique event details
  • A custom image they can use for the Facebook event banner

Promo Schedule, Printable Flyer, & Text Message Template

Next, fundraising organizers receive an email with a suggested promo planner schedule, detailing the various tools we’ll be sending them over the next 2 weeks leading up to the event.

The organizer also receives a customized printable flyer and copy & pasteable text message they can use to contact all their friends and family through direct messages.

Tons of community groups connect via email, so 10 days out, we send them a forwardable email they can easily share with their contact list.

Social Media Video & Caption Template

Fundraising promotion heats up 1 week before the event. We kick things off by sending the fundraising group a customized social media video and copy & pasteable caption to help their event go viral in their local community.

Digital Flyer & Text Message Template

To make sure the group’s organizer has everything they need, we send them their digital flyer (same as printable flyer, just with a color background) and one last copy & pasteable text message to remind their friends and family to attend the fundraiser the next day.

Social Media Story Video

Day-of, we’ve found that social media stories boost event attendance. That’s why on event day we send everyone who has RSVPed a custom Facebook/Instagram video they can post as a story, plus another copy & pasteable text message for them to use in direct messages.
